Bensa Kokosa coffee is an heirloom variety, fully washed process with delicate citrus acidity, prominent sweetness of red fruits, candy sugar and aroma of coffee blossom. We found it amazing in filter extractions but it’s also very nice and smooth in espresso.
Bensa Kokosa coffee is produced in the Sidamo region on the Kokosa mountain at 2000 mt high.
Coffee cherries are only hand-picked, then, is washed in the Bensa washing station and processed in Addis Ababa. Moplaco group monitors all crucial steps to ensure always the highest standards.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
Moplaco group, based in Addis Ababa, is a leader in export coffee and also manages sites in rural areas and observes all coffee preparation. This company was founded in 1972 by Yannis Georgalis, a third-generation coffee professional who moved from Greece to Dire Dawa, Harrar, during WWII. Heleanna took over the reins of her late father’s coffee exporting company in 2008.
Since then, the company grew exponentially: Moplaco group is a reference point in many aspects such as farming, milling, sourcing, exporting & processing.
